The close association between religion and distrust of science makes your logic sound, but don't forget that there are some very public, left-wing morons who are advertising their flat earth beliefs.

I'm an atheist but I'm open to the idea of a god or gods. That's one of the main things I disagree with the right on. I guess that's why I'm more of right leaning libertarian than a republican. I think that religion should remain a personal experience or a small community one and not being involved in politics. Their right to follow their religion (reasonable beliefs) should be protected. I agree with the right on how a country should be run though.
