Ah yes Halo, the game that was shown off for Mac before Microsoft splashed the cash and bought the studio.

Credit for Halo goes to Bungie, not Microsoft.

Gears? the Epic games tech demo? k, credit goes largely to epic games.

But let's not forget, Microsoft should also get credit for all the great studios they bought out and then ruined, Rare being a fine example.

Microsoft is given far too much credit.

You could say the same about Sony most of their great exclusive games where either bought, from third parties or sold. FFVII, Bloodborne, Ratchet and Clank, Crash, Spyro, Metal Gear Solid. Sure eventually they start releasing big games on their own like God of War and Uncharted. But Sony plays this game longer than MS, they also brought us the first fable.
