Removing such things does change the genre. Sticker Star and Color Splash can be filed under the large umbrella of the action-adventure genre.

Ah so you've fallen for Nintendo's pr spin of trying to say it's not that the series isn't good anymore, it's just "different." Well whatever, the genre people want to label it be irrelevant.
