Can't really blame them, that's a really bad first comment. They'd have to know you to be able to take it the right way, and even then it might not be tolerated. But for a first comment, it looks like unnecessary bashing and provocation and not much else. It's sort of funny, but it's also getting really old and if more people did stuff like that, discussions would get pretty horrible quickly.
