Putting RDJ's face up there as the biggest and at the top of the poster would make the uninformed think that RDJ is playing the role of Spiderman. That's stylistically bad in what is a kind of derivative movie poster design.

To be fair, Star Wars has been known to use this kind of poster for decades (since Empire Strikes Back I believe). I think in this case, it's passable because it's a franchise tradition, even if it might be a bad one.

That's what I'm saying. The Spiderman poster is derivative. Art in general is always somewhat derivative since one thing inspires the next. But you can get too derivative, and also get it wrong.
