I've always found it a bit trite and disengenuous that people get on Sandler's case for making "low-brow", silly ass comedies, yet many of those same people praised the hell out of (IMO) trash like the Hangover films.
Granted, NOT all of Sandler's films are gems, and as he gets later into his career, they do seem to be getting progressively less funny on average. But growing up in the 90s (born in the early 80s), I grew up with that stellar SNL cast, and in turn most of their movies. Sandler and Co. have given me a lot of laughs over the years, so even IF I tend to like his more recent films less, I don't begrudge the man. As far as I'm concerned, he's earned the right to do whatever the hell he wants, which is clearly exactly what he does.
