The iPhone will never be phased out. If there are problems/complaints with it, Apple can simply address them in a future revision. I just wish it supported J2ME (MIDP2) apps, then the stuff I was doing at work would run natively on it. Download speeds/protocols are almost certainly something Apple will fix. I would love to get one - but I imagine it could take a year or two before they reach Australian shores. (PS - good to see you back Kwaad! Where have you been?)

You do know apple has an exclusve contract with AT&T for like 2 years, and the AT&T data network is the worst in the industry... Apple can spend billions and billions and trillions and hundreds of trillions of dollars to make the iPhone the most powerful, fastest, most compatable phone in the galaxy. However... as long as they are exclusive to AT&T for the next 2 years. AT&T is the only one who can make the phone worth a damn.
It's great the way it is. AT&T needs a better data-service. That is the ONLY problem I see with the iPhone.
