The question is that the people who gave the US the intel would like to know who that intel is shared with in case it becomes a conflict of interest. I'm aware of the first point.
As to the 2nd, I knew a number of people that are conservaties that are sick of bad relations with the Russians, and I've seen a lot in the news/social media. I don't think it is the majority, necessarily, but there are quite a few that want things to calm down with Russia. Obama and Bush didn't get along with Putin at all, and Obama handled him so poorly that Putin ended up stealing some territory away from a NATO ally.
