But that doesn't change the fact that they need AA for optimum image quality. Those games would all look better if they had AA.

Worthy pointing out they have used AA before.  But usually in 30fps games.  I THINK Breath of the Wild, at least on Switch, has a light AA solution.  I think.  It's not a very good/strong one.  Both Zelda HD remasters did.  I think their aversion to it on Wii U was largely one of performance since many of their games targeted high framerate and they didn't want that compromised and also didn't want to use a super cheap but ugly solution.  Hopefully more games moving forward use it.
