Buut you're shooting creatures in a first-person perspective. How is that NOT a first-person shooter? |
Because the mechanics are not the same at all. If I go play Doom I shoot everything up front. Bosses are just unleash everything. Metroid is weak points and like Zelda and past Metroid games light puzzle elements to beating a boss. You also don't shoot all the time. It has much more emphasis on exploring. FPS tend to be linear but Prime much like the 2D games you back track a lot. You upgeade weapons and some weapons don't work on some enemies. A typical FPS evertything kills everything. Prime rewards exploration rather than death count. It has puzzle elements to unlock new areas. It's in every single way a 2D Metroid in a FP perspective. That's the only difference.
