I must say, I'm not particularly impressed. I really wanted to like Discovery, but it seems they want me not to like it. I see an over-reliance on CGI. The Klingon designs are way too weird. I see near JJ levels of lens flare. The fact that it's another prequel likely means they will create more continuity errors. I'm just not feeling it. CBS claimed this series was more for the traditional Star Trek fans than for the JJ-verse Star Trek fans, but what I'm seeing suggests the opposite. And worst of all, they want those of us in the US to pay a separate subscription fee to watch it, while the rest of the world gets it on Netflix, something most people already have a subscription to.

For that reason i want to see this flop hard, I really don't like the idea of the overpriced a la carte structure (same reason i won't buy TV episodes digitally be it Amazon or Vudu)

Edit: to give some context I have embraced digital movies I have 200+ titles on Vudu currently.  Nearly all of them though are digital copies of physical movies I have bought from walmart with a handful of titles that were disc to digital for $1 per copy.
