I know, and i'm not arguing that, what i'm saying is that it doesn't recognize forwards or backwards depth, it physically cannot, if a game cheezes it using the accelerometer or not does not change that.

If a game wanted to do something that needed to know the exact z-axis of the controller, it couldn't be done.

I think we're on different tracks here, cos I'm not denying that either. The Wiimote does not track its exact z-axis position, on that we agree. It can however still utilize z-axis motions such as thrusting or stabbing by approximation, on which we also seem to agree.
