Definitely, its the masterful character development, world building and fight choreography that inspired so many other creators like the authors of One Piece and Hunter X Hunter. I grew up watching both DB and DBZ and while DBZ had hype moments that got you pumped thats pretty much all it was. It had no lasting appeal and charm like DB and it seemed to get degrade each arc. And don't even get me started on Super.
