Well obviously being a One Piece fan makes it immensly more enjoyable.
Think of it as a less hectic Hyrule Warriors game. Basically the same thing. You have a huge cast of characters to play. In the levels you fight a bunch of fodder enemies until the boss. Of course in this case its like groups of 10 instead of 100 for fodder. Also the levels are more tightly contained than the huge open fields of Hyrule Warriors. But I feel the fodder enemies have more uniqueness in their fighting than the mindless groups in warriors games. So slightly less just mindless bashing.
You have a variety of cast to play as, whom all fight differently and you can level them up with new moves, power them up, ect. Same as Hyrule Warrios, so if yu like that, you will like doing this.
But yea, think of Hyrule Warriors, or Dragon Quest Heroes, ect. Being a fan of the series makes one like the game a lot more.
This game has a arena mode though where you can fight against one another with all the characters and bosses in the game and more, which is something Hyrule Warriors does not have.
