The entire selling point of Pokemon, where trading between versions localy is what makes the series so popular. I think this may be one time when Eurogamer might be wrong. Of course, I could be wrong myself, but I still don't find it very plausable unless Sun and Moon get Switch ports as well. |
Trading is not all there is to it, and regardless you can still trade between two games that are same version. Yeah there'll be no version exclusives but that hardly means there won't still be trading going on. Version exclusives likely make up the smallest portion of overall trades since there's only ever a handful of them and you only need to trade for one of each as you can breed from there.
