They've been doing that for a long time actually, for instance Minish Cap was made by Capcom and F-Zero GX was made by Sega I believe. What they've changed from last gen is primarily making games for one system instead of two, and eventually, solely for one system, though this isn't in full effect just yet, but still enough so to ensure the 1st year for Switch will have a consistent schedule unlike 3DS n Wii U had.
