Their ND in 2013 was a desperate act. They didn't want to reveal those games, because a) if you remember, it was most talk than anything, b) time showed (E3 2013) that they didn't reveal them sooner because showing them was their E3 plan. And that is my point: they don't reveal when they know they won't be able to bring something more to the table when the time comes. Nintendo studios might have halted Wii U support so they can help out 3DS - no arguments there - but that kinda came after their first problem: not being prepared. In terms of games, Switch is well above Wii U. But that doesn't mean 2018 will be like that. I too believe they will show 2018 games. |
Nintendo made too many mistakes with Wii U, but with Switch it's obvious they learned their lessons, and actually that's most obvious when comes to their games for Switch.
Nintendo said that Mario Odyssey was basically done in January but they decided to released in Holiday season, Nintendo is playing smart and they are spreading big games. That's almost certain case for 2018. games also, and I dont think that Mario Odyssey is only almost finished Switch game, that's most likely case for some other unannounced Switch games.
Same reason why they said for last ND that is focused on ARMS and Splatoon, they could also said ARMS and Splatoon and other games, but they said ND with focus on ARMS and Splatoon, now they are doing same thing. Its obvious they are focusing on 2017. games with TreeHouse play, stage demos and tournaments, despite they will definatly show some 2018 games also, but those 2018. games want have TreeHouse play, stage demos or tournaments. They done exactly same thing with last ND, they said focus on ARMS and Splatoon, but there were lotsa other games also. I gave you very clear and good example with Mario Odyssey and possible new Metroid Prime, where is obvious Mario Odyssey has focus with TreeHouse play and stage demos while Metroid Prime beacus is game that is 1-2 years from release would have only trailer and maybe short gameplay trailer. You are actually only person that from some reason doubt about 2018. Switch games, like Nintendo doesn't have anything to show or release in 2018. and fact is that most of Nintendo teams are sheadule to relase new game in 2017. or in 2018.
So they will show some 2018. games in any case despite fact they will focus on 2017. games (with TreeHouse play, stage demos, tournaments..) but you acting like E3 passed and they didn't show any 2018. game and that Nintendo actually don't have any 2018. game.
