You dont know that, focus means just that. Last Direct had a focus on Splatoon 2 and Arms, but we had plenty of things alongside Splatoon 2 and ARMS, but obviously they have biggest focus.

Your other part of post is clear assumption based on nothing, for instance we recently had official statement that over 20 UE4 games are in development for Switch in Japan only.

They said focus on games releasing this year when they could have said focus on games coming out this year and games to come in 2018.
And that makes all the difference.

You can say that part of my reasoning is based on a rumor, but it barely changes what i'm trying to say.

I know about those 20 games, but then again, if they are coming in 2018, and Nintendo has also a lot for 2018, why make a presentation that focus in 2017?
As i said, it's more like E3 2015 when they barely announced games for wii u because they just didn't have them. And that is what i fear: a repitition of that situation.

Why focus on 2017? Maybe because we are not even half way through 2017? They have big Nintendo directs throughout the year, we can prob expect a big one between August-November giving us an idea of what's coming in the first half of 2018. Remember when they announced Zelda early (and kept delaying it). People were going nuts saying "why would Nintendo announce stuff that isn't coming out soon".
