I'm still hoping it'll be a western, although the chances of that are... well, I suppose they're the same as they were before since we've not had a definitive no answer, lol. I suppose being set in modern Montana could be cool, especially if you get to explore the countryside and stuff too

I'm sure you'll be able to. Wilderness exploration is a staple of the Far Cry series, and Montana has plenty of gorgeous countryside to explore. Dangerous animals as well, including grizzly bears and mountain lions, another series staple.

ehhh unless it literally takes place in the mountains of Montana it will be pretty unexciting. like 70%+ of Montana is flat emptiness (I drove all through it in the last year). The mountains are pretty but I don't really grasp how a modern Farcry game would function there plot wise. There is nothing particularly interesting besides regular wildlife (you could pick a ton of states to center a game in where there are bears).

It definitely has to be like 1800s or early 1900s game with gunslinging if it's in Montana. Modern Montana is boring as fuck unless you want to go hiking or camping in certain parts. THe only logical time period would be the move outwest a few hundred years ago

Montana was one of the mining states so it would be logical. Not the biggest, but plenty of prospectors went there. Today all there is in Montana though are a million casinos and a lot of emptiness. Montana I believe is the poorest state as well

jesus.

the more I think about it the more I start to doubt that Montana is really where the next Far Cry game will be located. The only answer for Montana being the locale would be a Western game, and Montana seems like an odd choice when there are states far more infamous for the Western gold-searching themes like California and Nevada
