Downvotes on Article Comments

I downvote some really bad comments, but other than that, not much really. In fact, I too upvote some comments just because they were downvoted so much despite being reasonable comments.

I'm really annoyined by the voting system, because a lot of comments get downvoted just because people disagree with them (either about opinions or relatively good arguments). Comments here are one of the worst places for discussion I've seen recently. In fact, I've had much better discussion in YouTube comments in the last few years than here in comments, and YouTube comments used to be the worst comment section pretty much anywhere. The quality of comment discussions is also greatly hurt by the fact that you can't really divide the text into paragraphs because all newlines get turned into spaces, so everything becomes a wall of text.
