Best selling game is best selling game in any case, but definitely more impressive is when best selling game is game that was selling only 3 days in that month, than game that had almost hole month of sales.

MK8 is big established franchise, but Switch user base is very small in UK, and with only 3 days of sales managed to be best selling game of the month. Fact that Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Is Nintendo's First No.1 game For Six Years in UK proves that sales of MK in UK are very impresive. We can look US sales also, MK8D had best sales on 1st day for any MK game, beating even MK Wii that was launch on system that already had instal base of around 25m.

See my edit. So are you saying if MK8 now also wins May you'll be like "eh, it had a whole month worth of sales, not impressive"?

And don't get me wrong, I do think MK8s sales are impressive and should be celebrated, I just think the amount of days it had in the month is irrelevant to that. Usually it's an excuse for when a game flops, and no a game releasing later in the week doesn't mean it's sales aren't poor anymore, they're still poor and would have been poor regardless of when it had released. The same is true for games that do really well.

No I want say that, but logically sales would even bigger if it was released on 3. April instead of 28. April, thats why its more impressive because it won month with only 3 days of sales.

If you have one strong game releasing at beginning on month and another strong at end of month, and game that was released at beginning on month was best selling and game that was released at end of month second best selling, its valid argument to said that second game maybe would be 1st if it also had whole month of sales, but if actually second game become best selling game, in that case that's impressive.
