So what's with the huge sales difference for Switch?

Are Nintendo neglecting Europe and sending most of their stock to the US? Or is it just not as popular in Europe?

EU is Sonyland.  Or more accurately PSland.  The Switch will probably do ok there, but PS is just synonymous with gaming there.  Going to get even better once GT Sport launches.  And GT 7.

It's Sony territory Allright but it's not only that. The price is higher but more importantly, you can't find a switch anywhere in the wild (Belgium). Since launch I have yet to spot a switch in the wild. That's crazy two months after launch. It has never been like this for previous console releases. When I check online it's always out of stock. It can only mean that a) the console is selling out and b) that shipments for Europe are really low. I'm curious to see how it does when it gains popularity and becomes readily available in stores. Now it just seems like the thing hasn't even launched yet.
