These books are a homage to clint eastwood's westerns by Steven King.

Would have been awesome if they had gotten his son to play the part.

 

Also in the books & comics hes not a black man (right?).

 

 

At the very least Idris is a good actor but still ...

 

Edit:  The way Hollywood is I may still get my wish when they re-boot this in 15 years
