Personally I would like the reverse and have Elba as the villain and Matt as the Gunslinger. Oh well, the trailer does look interesting and actually may get me to go back to the books and finish them.

I also need to finish the books.  My biggest problem with this movie, besides screwing up the casting and look of the characters (seriously, Roland looks like a Blade wannabe, now), is that they aren't even adapting the books correctly.  It's pretty damn obvious to do this 1 book, 1 movie.  Instead this movie is trying to fit much of the entire series into one movie, pulling elements from 3 books, plus supposedly have some story that's supposed to take place after the last book.  This is going to be a complete clusterfuck of a movie.

No thanks. This is one of those crap movies that tries to cram 3 books into one 2 1/2-3 hr movie. Those never work out. And the gunslinger looks like he would fit better in a generic vampire movie. I think Matthew McConaughey would have been better served as the gunslinger than as the villain.

I'll still watch it but ... I'm not happy about it  Yes Mconaughey would have fit the part of Roland better ... I'd always kind of hoped Eastwoods son would get older before they made these .. he's a little too pretty for my taste but the pick of Clint on the right is pretty much how i imagined ol' long tall and ugly to look.

I have no interest in it anymore.  Not after looking into what the movie is actually about.  Basically, the typical Hollywood "loosely-based" mainstream adaptation.  And yea, Clint's son wouldn't be a bad choice.  Michael Fassbender would probably be a decent choice, too.
