Again, that's just all the more reason to hate their guts. THEY HOLD THEIR DAMN IPS HOSTAGE, reducing them to whorehouse slot machines. Nothing's worse than that. Hell, they had a perfect opportunity to win back fan's trust in remaking MGS3 cutscenes (spectacularly, might I add)... oh wait, those were wasted on a pachinko machine. Instead, we got this generic L4D wannabe which nobody wanted or asked for from said franchise.
Silent Hill and Castlevania (their next-biggest IPs) are pretty much dead and have been run into the ground with shitty sequels and spin-offs licensed out to third-rate indie Western developers, though they were given a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to inject new life into the SH franchise with a Guillermo Del Toro, Hideo Kojima AND Norman Reedus-backed game hyped by an awesome, genre-reviving demo to boot (what more could you possibly ask for?)... oh wait, they somehow fucked THAT up, too in typical present-day Konami fashion.
These fuckers can't do anything right this day and age.
