Gametap and Onlive were limited to PC and didn't get many notable titles. Also, Steam was a cheap way to get many games.
It appears Origin is a success, its dirt cheap as well for all the AAA content it offers. It also offers content not on Steam.
Thus far PS Now has to be a failure. Too expensive, dated content, lacks many notable PS3 games, pulled from many devices, streaming games is objectively an inferior experience, and Sony spent a fortune on it, $380 million was spent to buy Gaikai and nobody talks about PS Now. Its gonna need notable PS4 games to really gain some traction. Look at Xbox BC, that's doing a better job getting notable support.
I think the Xbox games pass has potential, not sure if it will do great but I'm sure it will do better than PS Now. Simply by being cheaper and having more recent AAA games.
