The difference between PS3 and Wii U is much smaller than the difference between PS4 and Switch. A game such as Lego City doesn't make for a good comparison, and you should know it. I'd be surprised if the different version got the attention they deserved. Besides, the visual result isn't even that important for development. For development, it's actual power that matters. Even if the visual difference was small (which it isn't in games that properly take advantage of each platform), the difference in power can make a huge difference in development.
