Ah keep in mind that Darksiders 2 was a launch title for the WiiU, THQ just had put money on it being another Wii in terms of sales and jumped on early with support, it was impossible to predict just how badly the wiiu would perform in comparison to it's predecessor, I mean... people thought it would be bad, but not 10% of the sales bad I think.
Switch launch was coming from a massive failure and had to prove itself to be something people want to buy before devs will move software to it, much the same as how the Wii didn't just launch with shovelware pouring onto it, after the GC people were afraid of the system not being a good home to sell third party, now again the Switch will have to show that it's a Wii people want.
