The fact that bomberman is a beloved (albeit B-list) videogame franchise and the fact that it was really the only other game to buy other than Zelda contributed to this success.
I bet 99% of Switch buyers have no opinion on Konami other than it's long-Standing consistency in making great games. Konami is only 'reviled' by select members of the gaming community because they parted ways with a ( difficult/genius ) game director.
