Video games aren't very nostalgia friendly in my opinion because the experience itself evolves over time and a new bar is set as you play new games. Gaming becomes more immersive and closer to the ideal as technology gets better. Playing an old game just isn't the same as when you first played it and the other games that are available are like it. I prefer to play games that give me as an immersive experience as I can get versus playing as familiar characters in games that focus on nostalgia. I guess that's the main reason why I despise Nintendo's games.
