Not surprising, the people I've seen collect amiibos like crazy where 30 something men, not the usual Wii audience.
Nostalgia is a big factor here, the retro market exploded in recent years, those 20-30 something men grew up in the 80s and 90s with Nintendo, and now have income to collect stuff. Zeruda has +100% attach rate because of the hoarding collectors.
