From the very first scene it is clear how much they evolved and matured as a group - each line that's delivered, even just the way they look at each other is so different from what it used to be and you can tell how much they trust each other now. So they have a really awesome superhero team vibe to them that wasn't there before... and despite that, when they start getting personal and more in-depth into each character the emotional weight is so, so much heavier this time around. And I love that. ...um, you asked why the movie was bad. I guess some people won't like it because it's different, or at least I hope that's the case (welp). Edit: putting it in Zelda terms... GotG was Ocarina of Time, Vol. 2 is Majora's Mask - the stakes are higher despite feeling way lower, the characters are far more developed and more emotional, but there's not much of an epic journey as it's more personal this time. I definitely like Majora's Mask more than Ocarina of Time. |
Sounds like I won't enjoy it, I didn't like the characters very much of the first one. Contrived, convoluted, wonders of space sci-fi lost, superhero team vibe, I'll wait for Netflix to check it out eventually.
