Who says there is going to be a world map at all?

I very much expect this Episodic FF7 to just jump from main location to main location for its episodes. You know the first one being in Midgar the whole time and ends with you leaving to go to Cetra City. The next episode is purely there.

Or if you do travel its some cutscene of you traveling and some conversation. You know like the train in FF15, or the boat in FF15. That is what I expect at best. But if they are going that route, that would just be a waste o resources and time and they shoudl just do a teleport basically.

Why would you expect that?

There aren't many other ways to recreate the FF7's world map today and let you roam the skies with Highwind. And SE said they want to include everything that people loved from the original game into this one. And that was certainly a big part of the original game.

Also, I hope you're not one of those who got confused because of the mistranslation "Episodic"?
They literally said "multi game series", and referenced Final Fantasy XIII, XIII-2 and LR: FFXIII.

Just don't see how an open world game woudl work in episodes. Are they going to to invisible wall off huge sections of the world so that you don't go to the meteor spot in teh first episode?

I just expect a very linear game split into sections of the world.

I've yet to see anythign to convince me otherwise. And SE has been saying for years to teh FF7 remake requests that they could never make the remake exactly like the first game. So yes tehyw ill keep in the "iconic" moments from teh game, like the city bike chase. But the highwind is nothign special. Most all ff games prior to the huge graphical leap had some flying device towards teh end.  There is nothing iconic about flying it around over any other ff game. And look how shitty they made teh flying car in ff15.
