I do enjoy a good conference, and was looking forward to seeing them on stage again for the first time in years. I guess a Direct video or something will have to do... as long as I see games I like, I'm not too bothered I suppose. |
This.
I will tune in to their pre-recorded E3 Direct but I still hope to see them make big live conferences again one day.
Nintendo certainly has the fans to fill the room with hype and rich atmosphere and, personally, when you're not attending the conference and don't have the opportunity to play the games on the show floor, it just adds a bit of nerve and excitement to stream a live conference where the developers are hyped and excited as well presenting what they've been working on for several years.
I don't think Sony's E3 2015 with FFVII Remake, The Last Guardian, Shenmue 3, and Horizon: Zero Dawn had been the same if the games hadn't been revealed in front of a live audience. Same in 2016 with God of War, Resident Evil 7, Spiderman, Crash Bandicoot, Death Stranding, Days Gone, and Farpoint.
