Switches/handhelds in the wild?

In Tokyo suburbs, using the train at least twice a day, I see almost only people playing on their smartphones. In 3 weeks, I've seen a couple of 3DS and maybe a Vita, that's all.
Personally, I can use my Vita but only on long train travels (at least 2 hours), otherwise I just use my phone or don't play.
