Its actually a hybrid, but Nintendo is primarily marketing it due to three reasons:Wii U is dead, so thery need a replacement and show the replacement to the public.The 3DS is still alive, so they are trying to minimize the sales being canabilized.And the Switch does deliver home consoles experiences on the go, so marketing as a home console delivers that idea.
