If they don't find a way to leave the Great Plateau before getting the paraglider (which given how the game treats you whenever you try to do it seems unlikely to happen) I don't see how they could get much lower than 40 minutes.
But for years they considered Barrier Skip in Wind Waker impossible... and now it can be done in WW HD. So... we'll see.
Anyway, I find speedrunning Breath of the Wild really boring. Nothing like Twilight Princess... super fun run to practice and watch. Never gets old to me.
