Ok, so this may not be an extremely bold prediction but lets take a look at shipments of previous Nintendo systems after their first full quarter.
DS shipments as of March 31, 2005-5.27 million (2.40m this quarter)
Wii shipments as of March 31, 2007-5.84 million (2.65m this quarter)
3DS shipments as of June 30, 2011-4.32 million (0.71m this quarter)
Wii U shipments as of March 31, 2013-3.45 million (0.39m this quarter)
Nintendo originally planned on shipping 2 million units of Switch by the end of March but some reports state that they bumped that up to 2.5 million and based on NPD+Media Create sales 2.5m seems more likely than 2m.
That would mean Switch needs to ship another 2.5 million this quarter putting it right around DS & Wii in the same time frame. Will it be done?
