Golden Week has mainly just been making up for the sales of the week prior, so you could be right. Still, 25k would be quite low. |
That and fact that is holiday so more people buying new hardware and games to be able to play during that holiday.

Wrong, it is the 3DS successor - Nintendo won't be releasing another handheld. It's combining Nintendo's handheld and console - why would it not need to sell as much as the 3DS + WiiU? |

Worst case scenario should be at least equal to the 3DS but that would mean that Nintendo's market has decreased even more. |
Yes, Switch will be 3DS successor also (IMO real 3DS successor will be Switch Mini/Pocket), but 3DS is still very live and actualy its selling better than last year in Japan.
That isn't so simple, Switch doesn't need to sell 3DS+Wii U to be considered success, because Switch is still one console and Nintendo had costs just for one console, with 3DS and Wii U Nintendo had R&D costs for hardware and software for two platforms or two marketing costs also for two platforms. Actually that's reason why Nintendo merged their hardware and software divisions that before were separated on home console and handheld divisions, and why they went with Switch with one unified platform.
Of course that selling around 25m Switch consoles in Japan alone wouldn't be worst case scenario. People dont realise how huge succes 3DS is in Japan, its 3rd. best selling console in history of Japan, only GB/GBA and DS sold better.
