Really, it depends on whether there's some online functionality for reviewers to test. If there isn't, they'll dock it points, but otherwise I can't see why a game that's a decent improvement on an 88 title wouldn't warrant something in the 90's... I suppose maybe battery life will be held against it?

Having trouble thinking of things to dock lol, Digital Foundry already showed that it plays flawlessly even in splitscreen.

Ports usually score lower than the original versions, they lose the impact and are not unique titles anymore.
That's where points will be taken away.

Yeah I suppose, but it really looks like the best kart racer yet made from what I've seen. The new game modes look like a lot of fun which, looking back at MK8, were really the only things missing from the original release. I was hesitant to say MK8 was the best of the series for that reason, but this remake looks like it takes the crown easilys
