I'm in the camp that would like a more powerful dedicated home console. I also have gotten used to Nintendo systems being weaker than the competition. I am ok with the switch and have even used it in portable mode. By comparison i have played my 3DSXL only a few times and kind of regret that purchase. All this is to say I'm alright with the concept of the switch, I'll take the sacrifice in power for the option to occasionally take my game with me. I'm not bitter about a lack of power because I'm kind of used to it from Nintendo (hell if I really cared about power I'd game on PC).
I think it is way too early to call this system a success. I think it has a good chance but ... shit happens and Nintendo has not done themselves any favors when it comes to third parties or the gaming community at larges perception of Nintendo (i.e. kiddie console)
