That is some of the most astoundingly poor reasoning I have seen on this site in a while and that's saying a lot.
For one, they stuck with the BRAND not the CONCEPT. The Wii U is nothing like the Wii in its core design philosophy. Which is probably part of the reason it failed to catch on with anyone. Second of all, the issues of the Wii U go far beyond keeping the Wii brand and are in no way tied to the fact that it was another Wii system. Branding, marketing, lack of strong exclusives early on, there were many, many problems and none of them have anything to do with them "sticking to the same concept." In short, the bolded is a glowing example of post hoc ergo propter hoc.
If the Switch is successful, it offers them plenty of potential moving forward. Shoot, they could get 2 more generations out of this easily.
