Please where at gay people beaten to death openly in any western country? Where are black people being shot for being black? Where are large numbers of whites being bashed? Ridiculously you would even compare the situations

Why does it matter if it's open or not.  Hate no matter if hidden to open results in the same outcome.  At least in the open it can be reviewed, critized and exposed for what it is.  Hidden it can fester and grow making it seem like there isn't anything wrong going on and people can ignore it like your comment.  Also if you do not think black people have not been shot for being black or a gay person killed for being killed, then you live in that nice rosy world where hidden hate crimes never happen.
