We had the same narrative with the same arguments for years that the Wii U is the "perfect second console".

Yup. We had a thread where a huge number of ps3/xb360 owners were saying they'd buy a wiiu before it launched. They called it the "perfect" second console. Not sure if they ended up buying one but even if they did, they sure didn't represent most gamers.

Nintendo IPs, with the exception of the wii/nds era, are for a specific audience.
