Honestly, the moment a proper Pokemon game is brought to the Switch is the moment Nintendo no longer needs to worry about Wii U-level failures... at the very least, this console that is already performing well would enter "success" status with a quality Pokemon game.

Given the portable nature of the Switch, I really don't see why they wouldn't; if the Switch doesn't work out, they could always go back to restricting it to some handheld, but at a certain point you gotta put a few chips on the table and gamble on a piece of hardware (Switch) that you clearly put a ton of work into and actually shows a great deal of promise.

I know Nintendo aren't the gambling sort, but this is the time for them to reestablish themselves... it's not as if they got to where they are today playing it safe.
