Well, I'd say there's three types of people who join the military:

1. Poor people who feel that their only way out is by joining the military

2. People that actually give into the rhetoric and believe that they're fighting for good

3. People that are violent and actually like the idea of killing people. I remember watching a documentary on the Iraq War where a guy said that he'd be disappointed if he didn't get to fight.

And I do feel bad for 1 and 2. Heres what really pisses me off about the US military, btw. For being the "heroes" theyre touted as by the gov, theyre treated like fucking garbage once they get back, the gov barely helps them and they end up on the streets. Its so infuriating. Idk if its handled better in other countries but the US has a funny way of showing its appreciation of these people
