This is probably true. The NES mini delivered very good emulation in an adorable form factor and at a cheap price and since it got hacked it's basically pirating heaven sooooo yeah. Nintendo's probably not a fan.
It's a shame though. Especially since it includes the controller. Why? It worked with Wii remotes ans people use it with their Wii/WiiU VC, sure it's not Switch compatible but thats no reason to discontinue it imo. I wasn't even able to get a second one for co-op.
