| Soundwave said: If this is true, they probably had the bundle planned for day 1, but Mario Kart wasn't ready for that date, then decided to launch early March because they wanted to sell some initial stock before the fiscal year ending (March 31st). It's also likely a fat profit maker for Nintendo as Mario Kart 8 is effectively a game that Nintendo re-couped all development costs on ages ago, so they're just basically taking an old game they already made money off of, installing into the Switch's on-board flash memory and charging $50 more for it. It's like $50 straight up profit for them. It's actual pretty brilliant, profit wise. |
I still think that it would be a wiser decision, and one that i think that nintendo will take, to price the bundle at 330.As you said, they already couped with all development costs with the original version, and Nintendo cant slack off on this. And assuming that Nintendo has enough stock, a bundle at 330 could sway alot of buyers that are on the fence.
My (locked) thread about how difficulty should be a decision for the developers, not the gamers.
