Depends on what happens. Either China will take control over NK after the fall of it, or the US/SK will. If China takes it, I think it'll be a bit better than now. It may still be a dictatorship or perhaps China will absorb it, which I could see since that'd give China more water area, which China wants. If the US takes it, they'll probably hand it over to SK and slowly integrate it back into a single Korea. Those are what I see happening at least. In either scenario, the country is better off.

The thing is, there'd probably be an influx of refugees into China, which would not make them very happy, so they'd probably either close the border or force them back in. There'll also be the problem with South Koreans being hostile towards them, as it'll cost a lot of money to reintegrate them. They also won't be trained for jobs that many South Koreans need, so they could have trouble finding employment and grow extremely restless.

There's always the possibility of the US occupying them for a time, supplying them with food and other necessities and propogating them with US values. The only thing I see not happening potentially is the food. But then again, we have given them a lot of supplies in the past. But Russia prob wouldn't like it, so if it happens under a Trump presidency it definitely wont happen.
