the upside of not being in political waters too much is that you're not dug into either side as much. Trump hasn't taken advantage of that but coming in with a fresh slate and saying "I don't care what party you're in I'll take your input and would love your support" could go a long way towards getting rid of this political quagmire. Also Democrats took this stance that they would oppose anything he does after a couple weeks like with a supreme court nominee who is rated near perfect by the bar association. There is not reason they should have had to change the rules to get him through, but the dems responded to Trump's antagonism with more antagonism. |
Trump has not done that. He has not tried to reach out to Democrats not even once during his Presidency nor has he even hinted that he is willing to work with them as long as the Republican party has majority. He is just as partisan as the rest in Washington right now so nothing will change. As for the Supreme Court nominee, that’s just pay back for the Republican doing the same thing when Obama chose his Justice. Actually it’s so funny how bad the Republicans were on his nomination since the they guy he chose was pretty conservative. It’s this kind of petty crap that things do not change and nothing gets done. I do not see this changing because Trump has already shone in his personality to be just as petty.
